It’s been a fantastic past month here at BCF. You all absolutely crushed our max week – we set a gym PR for the number of PR’s. Did I lose you there? Nearly every one of our members hit a PR on one or more of their lifts.
We finished our sugar free challenge and saw some great results abstaining from sugar for 30 days.
Now we are set to begin the CrossFit Open, the first attempt at a competition for many of you!
You are becoming fitter, and happier people. One of the most often overlooked facets of health and wellness is happiness. We’re creating that here at BCF. Think about the last time you were struggling to finish a workout. . . how many people were around you cheering you on and motivating you. They plaster a big smile on their faces post workout just for you – that’s some real happy!
So, let’s pass that happy along outside of our gym!
Next week, we’re asking for some random (and some not-so-random) acts of kindness. You’ll get a daily challenge that doesn’t appear to have much to do with your fitness. It does.
We want you to realize that giving and sharing can make you much happier than receiving can. Once we establish that, we have a way to make ourselves happy for life!
The Problem With Anonymity
To get the most from these tasks, you’ll want to remain anonymous. For example, your first challenge is an easy one: buy a stranger a coffee. If you’re shy, you don’t need to be seen. You’re not looking for acknowledgement, after all.
On the other hand, I want to know–and I want you to see–how much ‘happy’ we’re putting into our local community this week. All of our members buying cups of coffee for strangers may just make the day a little brighter. It will make us feel good to be a part of our own little movement, so we want to identify ourselves without sharing specifics.
There’s a photo on the BCF Facebook page (and to your right), tag yourself and make it your profile picture so we know you’re in on this. When your friends ask, tell them what it means. We’re spreading happy this week! Join us!
